Tucked into a quiet corner of the Magnetawan River close to the community of Katrine just north of Huntsville is cosy, bright Maggie Cottage.

The two bedroom cottage is newly renovated, with a well-equipped, clean kitchen and seating for four at the dining table.   There is a twenty-four inch stove, full-size refrigerator, and a microwave.  The living area opens off the kitchen and has clean, comfortable furniture and a television with cable, a VCR and DVD.  Board games are provided for inclement weather.   A patio door opens from the living area onto the deck, which faces the water.

Two bedrooms are located off the living area.  The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second has bunks with a single above and double below.  There is a clean and bright four piece bathroom.

Maggie is set in private surroundings with a large, level lot and plenty of room to play.  In the yard there is sun and shade and a place for lounging chairs and hammocks, along with badminton, horseshoes and croquet.  The large deck faces the river and because it is south-facing it gets sun throughout the day.  On the deck is a large, screened tent that has space for two lounge chairs.  A propane barbecue is provided with the cottage.

Sturdy, newly constructed steps lead down to the river, where there is a dock from which to swim.  The river is quiet and picturesque, with the opportunity to view wildlife.  It is also perfect for canoeing and you can paddle up stream for a mile and down stream for six miles from the cottage.  A canoe and rowboat are provided.  The cottage is just a short paddle up-river from Little Doe Lake.  At the mouth of Doe Lake there is a wonderful public sandy beach.  If you bring your own motorboat it can be launched at the ramp at Doe Lake, and from here there is access to the chain lakes of Big Doe, Little Doe and Middle Doe.

Just  off Highway 11, on  a four-season road, Maggie Cottage is only a fifteen minute drive into Huntsville with all its interesting shops, Pioneer Villlage, Algonquin Theatre, and fine restaurants.
