Cook's Cabin

Please bring your own linens and drinking water. Cook's Cabin is located on popular Ahmic Lake where hiking trails, fishing, boating and other activities abound. It is level and grassy right to the lake where there is a nice solid, sandy bottom for entering the water, and then gradually deepening till it is about five feet in depth at the end of the long, narrow dock. The main level of the cottage has a vaulted ceiling and the living area here is accented with its floor-to-ceiling stone built-in propane fireplace. There are sliding doors that go out into a closed-in, screened-in sunroom overlooking the lake and here you will find additional sleeping. This room leads out to the wooden deck where you can enjoy relaxing anytime of the day. A six-person hot tub has just been installed for your enjoyment. There is a bedroom on this level and from here it is five steps down to a large entry mud and laundry room where there is also a three-piece bathroom, handy for those quick jaunts in from the lake. Overlooking the living area and five steps up is the kitchen along with two more bedrooms and a four-piece bathroom. The windows are plentiful and large, bringing the outdoors in for you to enjoy, rain or shine. All the comforts of home are found in this cozy cottage setting. If you bring your boat, you will be able to venture through locks that connect this lake to another, besides enjoying the good fishing found here. Ahmic Lake has 43 miles of shoreline and is part of the historic Magnetawan River waterway. It is well marked for navigation and the boat launch is a kilometer down the road.
